Dogs are incredibly intelligent, which is why they’re often trained to be service dogs. Their noses can detect much more than a human nose, allowing them to recognize their humans by scent, find food, and even detect scents that we can’t.
Victoria is a rescue dog and didn’t have the best life before being fostered and eventually adopted by Lauren. She only has one eye, but is fiercely loved by her family. When Victoria began sniffing Lauren’s nose a lot, she thought it was strange. Victoria would even hold her nose to a specific spot on Lauren’s face. After a while of this odd behavior, she went to the doctor to get the spot checked out.
As it turns out, the spot was skin cancer, and Lauren’s doctor did a biopsy to remove it. Victoria’s smart nose smelled out the cancer and saved Lauren’s life. Check out the video above to watch Victoria in action!
