Everyone has met a farm animal in some form. By this, I mean that many of us have met parts of them as they line our grocery store shelves and butcher shops. At this point, farm animals bear little resemblance to who they once were. In their cellophane-packaged forms, they become products that people can easily purchase with a swipe of a credit card or few leaves of cash.
However, if we were to meet farm animals in a different setting, far from the grocery stores, butcher shops, transport trucks, and slaughterhouses, we’d realize our error – that the cellophane-wrapped containers in our hands do not hold “products” but rather portions of once living, breathing, and individually distinct beings who think and feel much like we do. Perhaps, at this moment, we’d see that we are hurting our friends, and that we are allowing billions of them to suffer each year in the clutches of factory farms — the most egregious abusers.
With this awakening in mind, please meet a few of our favorite farm animals below whose photos prove that they are someones, not somethings.

So adorable! So cute! This should make farmers feel guilty for ill-treating their animals.
