Rescue of Starving Dog Leaves Internet in Tears

A recent rescue has touched the hearts of many after a woman saved a severely malnourished dog from near death. Aria Keilbach, co-founder of Boonie Babies, a rescue and rehabilitation facility in Saipan, found the skeletal dog chained to a tree outside a home. Unfortunately, heartbreaking scenes like this are all too common on the island, which has a large population of stray and free-roaming dogs.

After reporting the dog’s condition to local authorities, Keilbach later visited the shelter where the dog was taken, only to find him on the euthanasia list. Determined to give him a second chance, she brought the dog, whom she named Zero, back to her rescue. Despite the cruelty he had endured, Zero warmed up to Keilbach and displayed an incredibly sweet nature.

A video documenting Zero’s rescue, shared on Boonie Babies’ TikTok account, quickly went viral, amassing nearly one million views and thousands of emotional reactions. The footage captured his heartbreaking condition before rescue and the joy of receiving his first reliable meal.
