The superheroes at Hope For Paws were called to the rescue once more! This time it was to save a little Chihuahua who was abandoned on the streets. Not only did this little one have to learn how to fend for herself – but also dodge dangerous traffic. Yikes!
When Hope For Paws arrived on the scene, they had to be very careful not to scare her and risk her getting hit. Luckily, she ended up running into the backyard of a house behind two large trash cans. This was the perfect opportunity to swoop in and save the day!
One of the volunteers, Loretta, blocked the space between the trash cans to allow Eldad to maneuver the “Lucky Leash,” around the Chihuahua’s neck. Once that leash was around her, she was no longer a stray and Loretta named her Blossom. Though Blossom was terrified, even urinating and defecating on herself, she never showed aggression – only barking in objection.
Once Blossom arrived at the shelter she was given a fresh, medicated bath, a cozy blanket to cuddle in, and a meal to fill her malnourished body. So much had changed for this sweet girl in the span of just two hours and thanks to L.A. Animal Rescue, the best change came when they found her a forever home with an amazing family. Blossom became the happy, playful, and affectionate dog who had always been there, just buried underneath the surface waiting to come out – it seems Loretta gave her the perfect name because she really did “blossom.”
