Thousands of Hindu Pilgrims/ People in the holy city of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, India during the evening light ceremony called Ganga arthi to worship river Ganga / Ganges. Culture, Tradition, ceremony

Every five years, the Gadhimai Mela Festival becomes the site of mass animal sacrifice. Over half a million attendees watch as tens of thousands of buffaloes, goats, sheep, and more are killed in what can only be described as a tragic display of unnecessary violence. This ritual, steeped in tradition, results in a staggering loss of life, all in the name of religious practice.

With your Support, we can urge the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and the Ministry of Home Affairs to intervene. Our goal is to convert the next Gadhimai Mela in 2024 into a bloodless event, preserving life and setting a precedent for compassion.

Sign the petition now to help end this brutal practice. Your voice can lead to a significant change and save thousands of lives. Sign the petition now, and together, let’s stop the bloodbath at the Gadhimai Mela Festival.
