There are around 70 million homeless pets living in the United States. Some of these animals have been abandoned by their guardians, and others were born without a home, but they all share the need for care and protection just the same. Given the sheer number of cats and dogs who do not have a proper home or guardians, it can be easy to think this is a problem that will never be solved. However, the countless animal rescue organizations, like Rescue From the Hart and Hope for Paws, are proving that we can make a difference.
This video features the incredible rescue of a homeless poodle, Layla, who had been hit by a car. Although she was scared and in pain, this little poodle was so grateful to the compassionate people, from Hope for Paws, who found her that she immediately curled into her rescuer’s lap and covered her with kisses. Layla had sustained serious injuries from the car accident and needed to stay in the hospital for over two weeks while she recovered. Rescue From the Hart arranged new foster parents for the little pup and they came to visit her all the while she was in the hospital. As the video says, Rescue From the Hart helped give her the chance to recover, but her foster parents gave her a reason to live!

It just makes me cry to see these poor little dogs and cats abandoned, thank goodness there are people out there who care as I do.. I have 2 rescued dogs and they are so loyal, they give me love each and everyday!!! My neighbors used to get mad at me for feeding 7 stray dogs each night. They would show up and sit in front of my house just waiting to be fed. I would open my fence sit on the porch and 1 by 1 they would come in and eat. I called several times for help but no one ever came and sadly I moved…..I will always wonder??
