Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of vodka
  • 1 fresh vanilla bean

Preparation

  1. Split the vanilla bean half lengthwise with a sharp knife. Scrape out the seeds with the knife and put it into a nice bottle. Add the bean inside the bottle.
  2. Cover the vanilla bean with vodka.
  3. Store in a cool dark place and in the first few weeks shake the bottle a few times.  It will be ready in a month or so (it should get that dark color).

Notes

It's like wine, the flavors get stronger over time however, you should NOT use this after about 6 months. Store in an airtight bottle in a cool, dark place, and shake before using.
