This bottlegourd peel chutney is also super delicious and quite easy to make! Put it on a dosa, some rice porridge, or what ever else you like!

Ingredients You Need for Sorakaya Thokku Pachadi (Bottlegourd Peel Chutney) [Vegan]
- 1 cup Bottle gourd peel/ thokku
- 1 Tomato - small, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Peanuts
- 2 teaspoons Tamarind
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
- 2 chilies Green - slit
- 2 teaspoons Chana dal
- 2 teaspoons Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2-3 red chili Dry
- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida / Hing
- to taste Salt
How to Prepare Sorakaya Thokku Pachadi (Bottlegourd Peel Chutney) [Vegan]
- Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a pan, add peanuts, chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds and dry red chilies. Once the mustard seeds start to splutter and dals turn golden, add the hing, bottle gourd/ lauki peel, green chilies and tomato.
- Cook covered till the peel is cooked through and tomato turns mushy
- Add turmeric, tamarind and salt. Mix well and turn off the heat. Cool and grind to a smooth paste. Serve with rice, dosa, idli or as a spread on sandwich.
