How to Prepare Death by Chocolate [Vegan, Gluten-Free]
To Make the Cake:
- Prepare your springform pan. Grease the sides, then line the bottom with baking paper. Preheat the oven to 345°F (convection).
- In a bowl, combine pastry flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Stir to combine. In a separate bowl, combine cane sugar, applesauce, and stir to dissolve the sugar. In a saucepan, melt chocolate and vegan butter over low heat.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar/applesauce mixture, then fold in the chocolate. Finally, add chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 35 minutes, then lower temperature to 320°F and bake for another 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
To Make the Frosting:
- Heat soy cream in a pot over low heat, then add chocolate and stir to melt.
- Spread over the cooled cake, then decorate with grated vegan white chocolate and cocoa powder.

It\’s cooked apples. You either boil or steam them and then reduce to a purée
Is that a total of 3/4 = 1-3/4 c gluten free flour or is that a typo meant to read 3/4 o= 1-3/4 T flour? The recipe given doesn\’t say what to do with the second amount of flour and that much flour in a death by chocolate cake sounds way wrong. Please respond so I can try the recipe.
