These festive and aromatic cinnamon cookies are the perfect thing to make when the weather gets chilly. Comforting and delicious - what could be better?

Ingredients You Need for Cinnamon Stars [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

For the cookies:

  • 7 ounces ground almonds
  • 7 ounces ground hazelnuts
  • 4 1/4 ounces icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup organic orange
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 3/4 ounces water

For the glaze:

  • 7 ounces sieved icing sugar
  • water

How to Prepare Cinnamon Stars [Vegan, Gluten-Free]

For the cookies:

  1. Mix ground nuts, icing sugar, orange zest and cinnamon. Add enough water to make a kneadable, not too sticky dough. Roll out this dough between two baking papers.
  2. Cut out stars - the larger the cookies are, the easier they can glaze afterwards - and bake at 350°F for 8 minutes. If you leave the stars too long in the oven, they will become too crispy when cooled.
  3. Allow the biscuits to cool completely before glazing.

For the glaze:

  1. Mix spoonfuls of water with the icing sugar to form a very viscous, not too liquid icing. Glaze!

Notes

These cinnamon stars are not only vegan but also gluten-free as they contain no flour but are nut-based. You can mix the icing with orange juice instead of water.
