How to Prepare Cinnamon Stars [Vegan, Gluten-Free]
For the cookies:
- Mix ground nuts, icing sugar, orange zest and cinnamon. Add enough water to make a kneadable, not too sticky dough. Roll out this dough between two baking papers.
- Cut out stars - the larger the cookies are, the easier they can glaze afterwards - and bake at 350°F for 8 minutes. If you leave the stars too long in the oven, they will become too crispy when cooled.
- Allow the biscuits to cool completely before glazing.
For the glaze:
- Mix spoonfuls of water with the icing sugar to form a very viscous, not too liquid icing. Glaze!
Notes
These cinnamon stars are not only vegan but also gluten-free as they contain no flour but are nut-based. You can mix the icing with orange juice instead of water.
