Oat milk is not going away any time soon! Lots of brands are releasing their own oat milk products from Quaker and Silk‘s oat milks to Pop and Bottle’s functional oat milk lattes and oat milk-based frozen dessert by So Delicious. Now, the popular and beloved coffee shop chain, Starbucks, is finally adding oat milk to some of its US stores!
It was expected that Starbucks would offer the popular plant-based milk at some point, and although they’ve had it in European locations since 2018, it was about time they brought it to the US! We’re sure it will be available at Starbucks nationwide eventually, but for now it is only at five locations in three US cities: Seattle, New York, and San Francisco. Starbucks is known to test out new products in their upscale reserve stores before rolling them out nationwide, as they did with their Nitro Cold Brew.
If you’re eager to order oat milk in your next Starbucks drink, you’re lucky if you’re near any of these stores: Starbucks Reserve Roastery in New York, Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle, Starbucks Reserve store at the company’s Seattle headquarters, Starbucks Reserve Bar in Seattle, and Starbucks Reserve Bar on Chestnut Street in San Francisco.
It’s also available at the Starbucks Princi bakeries in Chicago, Seattle (Westlake Avenue), and New York (Broadway). This is exciting news for those ditching dairy, and those who just love oat milk!
Not near any of the Starbucks locations that offer oat milk already? Until it’s available near you, save some money by making your own oat milk for your coffee with this recipe from the Food Monster App!

This Simple Vanilla Oat Milk by Kelly Williams is the easiest of easy homemade non-dairy milk recipes. To make oat milk, the only equipment you need is a blender and a nut milk bag. Unlike nuts, oats require very little soaking, so you can make a batch in nearly no time. And if you, like me, lack a fancy-Pants blender, you’ll still be able to have creamy, delicious non-dairy milk without a trip to the grocery store.
We also highly recommend downloading our Food Monster App, which is available for both Android and iPhone, and can also be found on Instagram and Facebook. The app has more than 15,000 plant-based, allergy-friendly recipes, and subscribers gain access to new recipes every day. Check it out!
