Soylent makes plant-based meal replacement drinks and powders, as well as coffee and “in-between” meal products. Now they’re launching another plant-based product called Soylent Squared. The bar is meant to be a healthier snack option than other bars that use animal-derived protein and have high amounts of sugar.

It’s a small 100 calorie bar that contains 5g plant protein and 36 essential nutrients and probiotics for digestive health. Therefore 1-2 bars can make a snack, but Soylent claims you can eat 3-4 as a meal replacement. The three flavors available are Chocolate Brownie, Citrus Berry, and Salted Caramel.

CEO Bryan Crowley says, “There are a lot of bars out there but most are high in sugar, use less sustainable animal-derived protein and often lack the nutrients that your body needs to thrive.” The squared bars are sweetened with just 3g beet sugar rather than refined sugar, which has been linked to weight problems, joint problems, heart problems, bone problems, brain problems, and immunity problems.

Currently, the bars can only be found on the Soylent site where customers can buy a case of 30 bars for $30.00.
