Source: Pulled Barbecue Jackfruit
Aside from showing you my favorite way to make pulled jackfruit come so close to the “real thing,” I’m letting you in on a secret ingredient many cooks use to create the sticky barbecue sauce you see on ribs—Coca-Cola®! Or, any similar dark sweet cola. I wish you nothing but absolute satisfaction as you bite through the bun and into this smoky, sweet, savory and absolutely succulent Pulled Barbecue Jackfruit by Llyod Rose. Source: Garlic-Chili Noodles
This Garlic-Chili Noodles by Tiffani Thompson and Larone Thompson is all about the chili oil, that fire engine–red elixir that’s a permanent fixture on the tables of every Sichuan restaurant. You could certainly buy a jar of it, but making it at home is surprisingly simple and the results are worth it. This chili oil is bold, fragrant and balanced—hot, but not blow-your-top hot. One of the best ways to enjoy freshly made Sichuan chili oil is, naturally, over noodles, in this case those great knife-cut wheat noodles from China. All it takes is some sliced scallions and cilantro (if you prefer) to complete the dish. If you find that you enjoy the chili oil as much as we do, consider making a double or triple batch to keep on hand; it lasts for weeks at room temperature. This season, instead of covering up the beautiful glazed apples inside of your pies, you give them their time in the spotlight by making an open-face pie! This Open-Face Apple Pumpkin Pie by Hannah Teson is like a two for one – the rich and spicy filling of a pumpkin pie with the sugar, cinnamon-y goodness of an apple one on top! Making gluten-free and vegan french toast is somewhat of a challenge, but in this case of this Pumpkin Pie French Toast by Gina Fontana, it isn’t! The goopiness of pumpkin replaces the eggs then, each piece of bread is coated in oats to create a crunchy outer layer.
Reducing your meat intake and eating more plant-based foods is known to help with chronic inflammation, heart health, mental wellbeing, fitness goals, nutritional needs, allergies, gut health, and more! Unfortunately, dairy consumption also has been linked to many health problems, including acne, hormonal imbalance, cancer, prostate cancer, and has many side effects.
For those interested in eating more plant-based, we highly recommend purchasing one of our many plant-based cookbooks or downloading the Food Monster App which has thousands of delicious recipes making it the largest vegan recipe resource to help reduce your environmental footprint, save animals and get healthy! And, while you are at it, we encourage you to also learn about the environmental and health benefits of a plant-based diet.
