Actor Danielle Monet, who is perhaps best known for playing the role of Trina on the Nickelodeon show, Victorious, is on a mission to expose the meat-eaters of the world to vegan cuisine.
Monet, who has been vegan for nearly 16 years and has attended Mercy for Animals’ annual gala for the past two, recently launched a new cooking video series called “D Takes Your V-Card” on Facebook, and endeavors to use the platform to inform and inspire people across the globe.
“In an effort to save the planet, animals, and your health, I’m exposing everyday meat-eaters to VEGAN food, (for the first time) and essentially taking your V card!” Monet wrote on the Facebook page.

Of course, there are countless stars out there who have recently made the switch to plant-based, such as Laverne Cox and Danielle Brooks, both stars of the hit Netflix television show, Orange is the New Black. Monet even has other stars to look to for inspiration when it comes to vegan cooking shows, as former MTV star Derek Pritchard launched his own vegan cooking show on YouTube this year called “Pritchard’s Proper Vegan Cookin’.”
So far, Monet has cooked up vegan French toast, sugar cookies, sushi, sausages, and more. Check out all the episodes here!
Anyone can follow along and watch Monet’s cooking channel, provided they have a Facebook account and internet connection, which makes her vegan series special and accessible. If you love some of her recipes and want even more variations, check out our suggestions from the Food Monster App below!
