Have you fallen in love with Trader Joe’s? Are you obsessed with their unique and tasty products? Did you know that your favorite local grocery store comes out with new products every month?
It’s true! Trader Joe’s launches new products on a rotating basis, just one of the many special aspects that Joe Coulombe, founder of Trader Joe’s, put into practice in order to keep the shelves fresh and the clients happy.
When Trader Joe’s opened their first store in 1967 in Pasadena, California, Coulombe was already a seasoned business owner. Since 1985, Joe ran a chain of convenience stores called Pronto Markets aiming to get people in and out with their goods in a timely manner.
Yet, it’s the Trader Joe’s brand that really stuck with Coulombe.
It was in 1972 that Coulombe introduced the first private Trader Joe’s label. Wonder what it was? Granola. Not surprising if you’re acquainted with the store. By integrating a host of private labels, Trader Joe’s has been able to cut the costs of their products, making healthy and fresh foods available to everyone. They also follow strict guidelines to provide the best possible product at the best cost including buying directly from suppliers and in volume, switching out unpopular items, and discarding the “suppliers shelf fee.”
Trader Joe’s is also on the front lines in offering diet-specific food items. They have a slew of keto-friendly, paleo-friendly, gluten-free, vegetarian-friendly, and vegan-friendly food products.
So far in 2019 alone, Trader Joe’s has introduced over 80 different products for all kinds of specialized eaters, which were all panel approved for the shelf! Below are 15 carefully selected vegan-friendly products to hit the Trader Joe’s shelf this year!
