With all this variety, there’s something for everyone. And now there will be more with Golden Krust’s plant-based Jamaican patties made with Beyond Beef.
As of Wednesday, February 26th, Golden Krust is testing Jamaican-style patties made with Beyond Beef® in both Spicy and Mild flavors at select locations in Boston, Toronto, Hartford, and New York City. The patties combine Beyond Beef with their authentic Jamaican herbs and spices from a 30-year-old family recipe. They are then baked in their trademark flaky pastry pocket.

The patties won’t just be available at the restaurant either. They will be part of the chain’s new “better for you” line which include microwaveable versions of the spicy and mild Beyond Beef patties and vegetable and spinach patties, available at supermarkets, retailers and foodservice locations.

Novas says: “Beyond Beef was the perfect choice for our new patties since it is designed to look, cook and taste like ground beef, with all the benefits of plant-based protein. We are excited to commence this test of Spicy and Mild plant-based patties at our Company restaurants today, and to make the products available to our entire franchise system in the first part of 2020. We challenge you to tell the difference between our traditional beef patties and our new plant-based protein patties.”
