We Need These Gorgeous Dairy-Free Thai Ice Cream Rolls Right Now!

The dog days of summer are upon us, and when the weather is this hot nothing sounds more appetizing than a generous serving of dairy-free ice cream. While we love the frozen treat in all of its forms — as soft serve, as gelato, or just scooped into a cone  — we do get excited when it’s prepared in new and interesting ways. So when we heard that an ice cream shop called Blossom Ice Cream in Brooklyn, New York was serving up plant-based Thai rolled ice cream, we developed a serious obsession with them.

Rolled ice cream is a Thai street food that certain specialty ice cream shops have started serving. Thai rolled ice cream is also known as stir-fried ice cream and is actually made to order by hand.

How is it Made?

First, Blossom prepares a flavored dairy-free cream base according to your preference. Next, they pour the cream base over other ingredients (such as cinnamon, fruit, etc…) on top of a metal freezing pan, which is chilled at a frosty -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, the ingredients all get combined and spread thinly over the pan. Once your ice cream is frozen, Blossom can then roll up your ice cream into gorgeous spirals, garnish your dessert with whatever toppings you desire, and voila! Blossom offers eight different vegan ice cream flavors, like this Vegan Key Lime Pie, and an assortment of different toppings.

One Hand-Rolled Ice Cream, made with Organic Soy Base, will cost you $7.50. Best Part? The toppings are all free of charge.

Isn’t the Wild Berry Lavender, made with fresh blueberries and lavender, lovely?

The Vegan Classic Cooler is made with soy ice cream that’s mixed with Oreos and Bananas. This one is topped with strawberries, blueberries, and walnuts.
