Get ready for a green revolution on your plate, fellow foodies! Youkuai Group International, one of China’s premier plant-based food companies, has just announced a ground-breaking partnership with Beijing-based food distributor Usource.

Their joint mission? To bring delicious, sustainable, and healthier plant-based meat alternatives to our tables across North China.

This exciting alliance is a significant leap into China’s emerging market of alternative protein products. The aim? To make our world a little more “good” (as they put it) by offering us a wider variety of nutritious and sustainable food options.

The dynamic duo, Youkuai, and Usource, are set to distribute their diverse Zrou plant-based meat products to top eateries, breweries, hotels, and other food outlets in Beijing, Tianjin, and beyond.

If you have yet to hear of Zrou, get ready to drool. Developed by top chefs and beloved by food and beverage professionals across China, Zrou’s mouth-watering range includes ground meat, burger patties, meatballs, and chicken nuggets. Having already formed a strategic alliance with Accor Group, Zrou’s delicious plant-based options can now be found in over 160 locations across 18 cities, from school canteens to five-star hotels.

Usource, a leading importer and distributor of natural, fresh foods, is no stranger to the plant-based scene. With a client base of hundreds of top-tier hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms, Usource is thrilled to add Zrou to its offering. “Zrou’s brand and products have been on our radar since they started, and we believe their latest product iterations are the tastiest in the market,” said Will Kerins, Usource’s co-founder.

And there’s more good news. Usource is nurturing its plant-based cheese brand, “Grassroots,” the first in China. The new brand aims to produce shredded mozzarella, sliced cheddar, chèvre, and dulce de leche, among others. “Zrou will serve as a great complement to our established and developing product pipelines,” added Kerins.

Franklin Yao, Founder and CEO of Youkuai, believes this is just the beginning of a new food movement in China, driven by top-quality products that offer excellent value to Chinese consumers. So, fellow food enthusiasts here’s our call to action: let’s make a greener, healthier choice next time we eat. After all, every delicious dish we choose can play a part in addressing food safety and food security, one bite at a time.
