Liqueur? In food? It’s not as bizarre as it sounds.
For reference, liqueur and liquor are not the same things. Yes, all liqueurs are liquor as they are fermented spirits, but liqueurs set themselves apart by having sweetened additives like cream, oil, or similar delicious dessert flavors. Because of its sweet and often creamy flavor, liqueur has found its way into plenty of desserts. Large companies have already begun selling plant-based liqueurs, and smaller producers have come up with bold vegan liquors that are stupendously inventive. We’ve put together a list of our favorite vegan liqueur recipes from our Food Monster App. Enjoy!

Source: Drunken Cherry Coconut
A cocktail and a dessert all in one! What’s not to love? Kristin Hoffman‘s Drunken Cherry Coconut Ice Cream is not an “alternative” ice cream. It just happens to be vegan and refined sugar-free, however, those picky eaters will never know unless you tell them. The healthy fat of the coconut milk gives this dairy-free ice cream an amazingly creamy and rich texture. And the bit of alcohol leftover from soaking the cherries keeps it a nice soft serve, so it is always easy to scoop.

British Baileys Bourbon Cream Biscuits are a twist on the traditional British biscuit (aka a cookie, even though you can’t call it that in Britain). A Bourbon cream is the most attractive and delightful little biscuit there ever was, but it’s never sold with Bailey’s cream center, so Clémence Moulaert decided to make one.
