About the Book: Harmony on the Farm is about is a young girl who spends an ideal day on her Granddad’s farm befriending cows, chickens, pigs, and turkeys. Harmony and her Granddad roam around the Farm naming all the new babies that were born on the farm. In the story’s pivotal moment, Harmony and her mother go shopping for groceries and, while in the meat section, Harmony learns that meat comes from the same animals she just befriended and named. With this knowledge, Harmony and her mother turn toward vegetarianism and embrace the variety of plant-based foods that are available to them.
About the Author: Sean R. Smith is a long-time vegetarian and writer living in Texas with his wife and son. He is committed to spreading the word about the benefits of a plant-based diet, and believes being vegetarian is one of the best things you can do in your life. It is healthy, helpful to animals, and it helps the environment.
Sean is excited to share Harmony on the Farm, with its gentle telling of where our food comes from and what it means to be a vegetarian. He has seen firsthand the difference vegetarianism can make in the lives of people and the positive impact it can have on our world.
