Yellowstone National Park is home to an amazing array of wildlife, including wolves. To better understand these creatures, and observe their behavior without human interference, researchers have placed wildlife cameras throughout the park. Recently, one of these cameras captured one wolf mother’s adorable behavior.
In the video, a wolf mother named Mollie can be seen returning to her den carrying something for her pups in her jaws. Although wolves will bring their puppies’ food back to the den, what Mollie is carrying is more unusual. Mollie can be seen returning to the den carrying a variety of “toys” for her pups to play with. A variety of bones, branches, and other things for the pups to chew on can be seen in the video. Bringing the pups these “toys” keeps them occupied and helps prevent the parent from being mobbed by the pups upon their return. The adorable video, posted on August 22, has received over 29,000 likes.
