Meet Toes, The Adorable Polydactyl Cat

A polydactyl being is one that was born with more than the normal amount of fingers or toes. This physical anomaly happens in humans, dogs and cats. Have you ever seen a Polydactyl cat? They are born with six toes on each foot which gives them the appearance of wearing little mittens, and it makes them look beyond precious. These photos show a brief journey of one rescue cat who happens to have this anomaly.

Meet Toes, whose name is quite fitting. How many toes can you count on this adorable cat in these photos?

Toes has gigantic, adorable mitten-like paws. Isn’t he just the cutest?

He has one extra toe on all of his paws. It’s not everyday when you get to see a polydactyl cat, and they’re pretty cute, aren’t they? Most polydactyls have extra toes on their front paws, which makes them look like they’re wearing mittens.

This little kitty was taken in by Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association and has now found a loving home with people who are used to caring for rescue cats.

“We knew we could find a home for this special guy, and we did within a day! He has been adopted by a lovely couple who have other rescue cats. The cats will no doubt love to chase this little guy and all his many toes around and we know he will have a great life with this family,” said Morgan of VOKRA to Love Meow.
