Swiss-French artist, Saype, is taking his fight against Pollution to new heights – or more accurately, new lengths and widths. In an impactful display of art-meets-activism, the 34-year-old artist has transformed the grassy expanse of a Swiss park into a giant canvas, sparking dialogue about environmental Conservation.

Found nestled within the scenic surrounds of Lausanne’s Louis-Bourget park, a stone’s throw away from the placid Lake Geneva, lies Saype’s striking creation: a mammoth mural portraying a crumpled plastic bottle. The fresco, approximately the size of three tennis courts, stands as a bold and stark reminder of our ongoing struggle against Pollution.
In the creation of this green giant, Saype relied on eco-friendly materials. Using chalk and charcoal as his artistic arsenal, he not only ensured the fresco’s environmental impact was minimal but also underlined the potential of sustainable practices in every field, even art.
But like the very issue it addresses, this artistic protest is transient. The outdoor mural, sectioned off for public viewing, is expected to last just two to three weeks. Although temporary in nature, the impact of this enormous environmental emblem is poised to leave a long-lasting impression on its audience.
As we navigate the crossroads between convenience and Conservation, Saype’s giant fresco serves as a compelling call-to-arms. It reminds us that every discarded plastic bottle contributes to a larger global issue, a message encapsulated in the very magnitude of the artwork. The message here is clear – we must all play our part to tackle pollution, no action is too small.
