A woman captured a bittersweet moment between her two senior whippets, Rosie and Bluebell, who have been inseparable since they were eight-week-old puppies. For Daisy Smith, 21, of Bristol, these dogs were a part of her life from childhood. “They are sisters and we got them together,” she shared.

Over the years, Rosie and Bluebell shared countless adventures, from beach trips to playful afternoons at the park. Despite slowing down with age, their bond remained unshaken. However, Bluebell’s health began to decline. Struggling with dementia, arthritis, and other ailments, the family made the difficult decision to let her go.
A video shows the sisters cuddled close, seemingly unaware of the impending goodbye. “I think they knew something was off,” Smith reflected. Studies suggest dogs can mourn a sibling’s loss, showing grief-like behaviors.
Bluebell passed away this week, leaving the family heartbroken.
