A natural phenomenon called a “sundog” helped to reassure one family after their beloved pooch’s passing. When the Rocco family adopted Fennie, the mixed-breed dog soon became a cherished member. However, after sixteen years, they knew it was time to say goodbye. Fennie’s health had been declining and the family did not want the beloved canine to suffer.
Although they were heartbroken to say goodbye to Fennie, a remarkable natural phenomenon helped reassure them that he was still watching over them. Called a “sundog”, the family observed a halo effect around the sun. Caused by the interplay of sunlight with ice crystals, it is a rare natural phenomenon. Seeing this “sundog” helped reassure the Rocco family that their beloved pup was still watching over them.
