Pickles the Rescued Pig Has the Impressive Ability to Turn a Bad Day Into a Good One (VIDEO)

There is quite a chance that Pickles the piglet, the little spotted baby in the video, has the ability to turn anyone’s bad day good. The sight of her playing and bonding with her caretakers just melts your heart. She loves running around and seems only to stop when waiting for someone to give her lots and lots of loving pets. It is hard to imagine that any different life than that of a loved little piggy with a full tummy and a warm blanket to sleep on could have been in store for her.

What Pickles went through before she was rescued by Farm Sanctuary was not at all as colorful as her current life. She was born on a farm, all the rest of her litter was stillborn, and her mother didn’t show interest in nurturing the only surviving baby. Luckily, there were good people around who stepped in and contacted the sanctuary, so that Pickles would have a chance to live. When she was picked up by the rescuers from Farm Sanctuary, she was just a few days old and weighed only two pounds!

The pig now lives at the Farm Sanctuary’s New York Shelter. She took to the bottle quickly and had a great appetite right away. She, unfortunately, suffered from an umbilical hernia and had to undergo a surgery – but it ended in a great success and now Pickles is in full health, living the best life she could probably imagine.

Pickles was given a chance to live – very literally, since without help from Farm Sanctuary she would not have survived on her own.
