Siri, a three-month-old puppy, had the worst of luck – while wandering around a construction site, she accidentally fell into some leftover tar. It was impossible for the tiny pup to free herself from the sticky trap and she lay there for days, completely unable to move, starving and thirsty. Thankfully, she was finally found by kind people who cut a whole chunk of tar from the road to rescue Siri and immediately rushed her to RESQ Charitable Trust.
One look was enough for the veterinarians to know that Siri’s condition was critical. She was started on fluids and the rescue team began the arduous process of freeing the puppy from the tar by the way of oiling and massages. After three hours, 70 percent of the tar was removed from Siri’s body. She was given a warm bath and put to bed to finally feel safe and cozy. After a nap, she ate her first meal in days.
After just a week of the rescue team’s efforts, Siri became completely “tar-free!” She is now fully showing her playful character, enjoying lots and lots of cuddles and just being a truly happy puppy!
