There is nothing that amazes us more than the speed with which some rescued dogs can move on past their trauma. For a moment, imagine yourself in the place of a dog who has only ever known abuse at the hands of humans. Even though you only ever wanted to make your human happy and to be loved, your wagging tail and kisses never seem to be enough. As time passes by, you might start to think that all there is to life is struggling to survive in a situation that you have no power to leave. But then one day, a group of humans comes to your home and takes you away from that terrible place.
Recovering from abuse and neglect is different for every dog. For some, it may take months of loving patience to be comfortable in the presence of even the nicest humans. For others, trust is immediate. Shyko and Shido, the two young dogs in the video, were victims of extreme neglect, but thanks to rescuers at the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand, they will have the chance to have the life that they always deserved.
Plagued by mange and bacterial infections because their original guardian would not take care of them, one would imagine that these poor dogs would have their reservations about humans. But right from the get-go, you can see the love and excitement in their eyes as they take in their new life and all the good stuff it brings, like pets, baths, toys, and plenty of playtime with rescuers and new doggy friends.
If you are considering welcoming a pet into your life, please consider adopting rescues like Shyko and Shido. Even though they have been through a lot in their short lives, they are still eager to find their true forever home.
