A sweet little piglet named Rose has conquered all the odds after falling off a transport truck headed to a feeder farm. She was already suffering from conditions typically occurring on many factory farms, but the fall from the truck left her fighting for her life.

Rose’s body was in shock, she was covered in asphalt burns, and completely unresponsive. Thankfully, the wonderful team at Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary stepped in and took this precious baby under their wing. She was rushed to the vet and given medication and fluids to stabilize her. They weren’t sure if Rose would make it … but now, she is doing great! She has enough strength to stand and can finally experience the simple joys of life, like feeling the soft grass beneath her feet.

Though this video shows a monumental step in her life, her steps are small because she still has a shattered rear leg. That is about to change, however, because she is scheduled for surgery very soon! Rose will have a long road to recovery, but perhaps in the next video, she will not only be sniffing the fresh air and soaking in the sun but also running around like every piglet deserves to. We look forward to seeing Rose join Toby and Baby blowing bubbles in mudholes at the sanctuary one day!
