River at Sunset

An acid spill from a Chinese-owned copper mine in Zambia dumped 50 million litres of toxic waste into the Kafue River, devastating wildlife, crops, and vital water supplies. This river supports 60% of Zambia’s population, including 5 million people in Lusaka. Wildlife is dying, crops are destroyed, and millions risk losing safe drinking water.

The company responsible, Sino-Metals Leach Zambia, has only issued an apology. That’s not enough. The long-term damage to people, animals, and the environment could be irreversible if we don’t act now.

We must hold those responsible to account. Zambia’s land and rivers must be protected from reckless corporate practices. Sign the petition now to demand a full investigation, real consequences, and strict environmental protections.
