Petition: End the Secret Killing of Healthy Greyhounds in Australia

Greyhound racing in Victoria, Australia is hiding a dark secret: healthy young dogs are being quietly euthanized. An accidental email, sent to a rescue group, exposed that even a 12-month-old greyhound with a suspected fracture was killed without x-rays or treatment – all because he was deemed not “economically viable.”

Worse still, this isn’t a one-off. Investigations show many greyhounds with treatable conditions are being put down without any real effort to rehome them. Greyhound Racing Victoria’s reports mislead the public by failing to disclose the true reasons behind these deaths. Animals deserve better. No healthy dog should die for profit.
