Every year, 5 million donkeys are slaughtered for ejiao, a gelatin made from their skin and used in cosmetics and wellness products. These animals endure unimaginable suffering: stolen from families, dragged by ears and tails, transported without food or water, sometimes with broken legs—and then killed for profit.
The U.S. has a chance to help stop this. The Ejiao Act, reintroduced in Congress, would ban the import and sale of ejiao in the United States. Yet, it remains stalled—while companies like Amazon continue to sell ejiao, even as others like eBay have banned it.
Donkeys are vital to communities worldwide—especially women and children—who rely on them for transport, water, and survival. Their mass slaughter is not only inhumane but also devastating to people.
Sign the petition now. Demand Congress pass the Ejiao Act and end this cruelty. Sign now. Speak up. Stop the slaughter.
