A man was arrested after allegedly abandoning a dog at a dump and poisoning another dog with anti-freeze, according to Nevada police.
85-year-old Apolonio Aniceto was arrested after Nye County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) found a dog that had been left to die at a dump.
In a Facebook post, the NCSO said that the man from Pahrump had taken the dog to the dump and abandoned her. During the arrest, deputies found another dog who was in critical condition. They rushed that dog to the emergency room, but the pup had to be euthanized due to his critical and irreversible condition as a result of anti-freeze poisoning.
Aniceto was booked on a charge of felony animal abuse and later was booked on an additional charge of animal abuse relating to this dog’s condition.
After this, KPVM reported that a third dog was found on the property that had been left outside and was only surviving because the neighbors were feeding the animal.

While we cannot change the horrific treatment that many animals have already endured in the past, we can give animals a voice and hold perpetrators accountable for crimes in the present and the future. Many animal abusers are not held accountable by the law, which feeds into this horrific cycle of abuse. You can sign this petition to demand all states make all animal abuse a felony.
