We’ve all heard the phrase, “Put yourself in other’s shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person too.” This sentiment doesn’t just apply to people, however, it applies to all living things including crustaceans like lobsters. It has been long debated whether these animals actually feel pain, but this is beside the fact. Feeling or not feeling pain doesn’t excuse taking an innocent being’s life, and as seen in a video posted on the Toronto Fish Save, you can clearly see this lobster doesn’t want to die.

In the video, the lobster, who is destined to become someone’s dinner, holds on for dear life, silently pleading for his life to be spared. There may not be a lot going on in the scene but as an animal lover, simply watching it will literally tear your heart to pieces.

Let this be a reminder that all life from the tiny ant to the blue whale deserves respect and compassion.

If someone did this to a human there would be an uproar yet people feel it is acceptable to do this to animals I did not look at the photo or watch the video because it would break my heart. Humans are such an entitled species and too many think they are special or the only ones who feel. Well they/we are not and no animal should ever have to endure such cruelty and pain.

This isn\'t a lobster, it\'s a crayfish. Both of which shouldn\'t be boiled alive. I still don\'t know how anyone can eat bugs and that\'s what crustaceans are, bugs of the sea
