During their earliest years, kids look up to their parents, learn from them, and seek to emulate their habits – and as this adorable YouTube clip proves, this is as true for other species as it is for humans!

The family of lions in this video was recorded near Jao, part of the Okavango river delta in Botswana. The dad is clearly determined to keep his cubs in line, but they’re having none of it, and are roaring right back at him. Or maybe he’s just trying to teach them the art of roaring, and they can’t get it right? Either way, the ensuing roar-fest makes for one truly adorable video.

As for the cubs’ mom? She’s just wondering when all the noise is going to stop!
