In the above video posted by Glass Walls, a heartbreaking reality of the dairy industry is revealed. When baby calves are born on dairy farms, they are not allowed to drink their own mothers’ milk that is naturally produced to feed them. Instead, baby calves are either physically separated from their mothers, or, as the video reveals, contraptions are attached to the calves’ faces that prevent them from drinking the milk that is intended to be packaged for human consumption.

The look of confusion and frustration on the baby calf’s face is a sad reminder that this milk is meant for them … not people, yet that is something that our society widely rejects and ignores. The bottom line is we don’t need milk and cheese from cows, but these little babies do. With so many dairy-free alternatives available, it’s never been easier to ditch dairy.
