These boaters saw a Blue heron dangling from a tree in the middle of nowhere but did everything they could to ensure she finally flew away!
The heron’s long, pointed beak was entangled in some wire or fishing line that was connected to a branch in the water. The boaters used a knife to carefully disconnect the beautiful bird from the tree and return her to safety. The heron hung out on the boat for a minute before flying away.
While this heron was lucky to have been found and freed by these boaters, not all animals are as fortunate. So many marine animals are still negatively affected by plastic pollution on a day-to-day basis. This is why it’s important to dispose of plastic properly or avoid it altogether!
