Pigs are some of the most intelligent animals on the planet, but sadly, they are rarely given credit for their smarts. Because most people consider these animals “food,” they are reluctant to see pigs as anything more than that. But we know that pigs are, in fact, incredible and dynamic individuals that can be just as loving and smart (if not smarter) as your dog or cat.

Just take the pig in this video. When his caretaker places a wooden puzzle with three different color pig cutouts in front of him, it doesn’t take this brilliant piggy long to match all the missing pieces. Not only can he get the pig cutouts into the puzzle with ease, but he can even tell the colors apart! We have seen pigs do some pretty spectacular things, but we have to admit this kind of blew our minds!

So, next time you hear someone say that pigs are only messy, smelly farm animals incapable of thinking or feeling, show them this video.
