Though something as common as a tin can may seem harmless to you, this little fox cub begs to differ! One afternoon a kind human found the fox wandering in their garden. After a little investigation, the gardener noticed that the fox had accidentally gotten its head stuck in a can.
That’s when Wildlife Aid arrived. Team members Lucy and Simon were able to track the fox cub, capture it, and remove the tin can from the distressed cubs head. While the can only took a few minutes to remove, Wildlife Aid noted that this little cub would not have been able to remove the can himself, and likely wouldn’t have survived more than a few days.
For this reason, it is important to remember that, no matter how harmless or simple an item may be, litter of all kinds can harm wildlife. Please pick up your trash so that animals, like this cute little fox cub, don’t find themselves in a sticky situation.

Please smash your cans before recycling. They often sit outside before being recycled, and any animals could get their head stuck while trying to lick the residue out of the can.
