Dog Embarrasses Human by Telling Workers “Bye”

@doodleboybax I don’t know why Baxter wants to act like he ain’t got any home training when we got strangers in the house. 😮‍💨 Thanks @asap.favo4 and @chriscraft1 for taking it like champs. At least you now have a good story to tell WITH PROOF and an entertaining dog to follow. 🤭 Button teaching is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re up for the challenge, check out the link in my bio. A Goldendoodle named Baxter from Houston, Texas, left visitors taken aback with his candid communication skills. At just 8-and-a-half months old, Baxter has mastered using a soundboard to interact with humans, a skill he’s honed since he was only 3 months old.

The unexpected episode unfolded when furniture workmen arrived at Baxter’s human, Mónica Hicks’s home. Much to their surprise, Baxter didn’t shy away from expressing his feelings about their presence. Using his sound buttons, the pup politely but clearly instructed them to “Leave human” and bid them “Bye.”

Hicks shared the amusing moment on TikTok, where it quickly garnered over 700,000 views. In the video, she humorously lamented, “Having a talking dog is all fun and games until he embarrasses you in front of strangers.”

Despite their initial astonishment, the workmen took Baxter’s comments in stride, even finding amusement in the situation. “I swear that’s the first dog to ever tell me to get out,” remarked one of the workmen, with a chuckle. “There’s no taking it back either.”

The use of communication buttons, adapted from AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) for humans, has empowered Baxter with a unique voice, deepening his bond with his owners and providing him with newfound agency.
