We will never stop being amazed at the incredible lengths Animal Aid Unlimited goes to for homeless and injured dogs! Recently, the India-base rescue organization and shelter got a call about a dog who had been attacked and severely burned with acid.
When the rescue team arrived on the scene, they realized the poor dog had a third-degree chemical burn and the acid dissolved the poor pup’s skin down to her muscle. It was clear she needed medical attention, fast.
Once back at the Animal Aid hospital, staff worked diligently to save her. With almost half of the skin on her back burned off, the team wasn’t sure how she’d be able to heal. But that didn’t stop them from trying. The team sedated her before treatment and then thoroughly cleaned the burn to remove traces of the acid.
The sweet pup, now named Honey, took six months to heal, with daily bandaging and treatment. But thanks to the dedication and persistence of Animal Aid, she recovered from the traumatic experience. Today, Honey has a big smile on her beautiful face and loves to jump and play!
Honey suffered the unimaginable and her story has truly left us in awe. As always, we are incredibly thankful for all of the work this organization does to help homeless animals in India. To learn more about Animal Aid Unlimited and learn how you can help, please visit their website.
