Huge news animal lovers! When the UK Government recently announced their plans to reduce animal testing, we commented how even their modest recommendations were more than what we have here in the United States.
However, we now have great news that a federal bill to end cosmetics testing on animals has been introduced into Congress!
This is MASSIVE!
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) reports that The Humane Cosmetics Act, H.R. 4148, would:
Wow, talk about going from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye! This momentous bill was introduced by Congressman Jim Moran, D-VA, otherwise known as, our new favorite person! Congressman Moran said to HSUS, “I am delighted to be working with The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Legislative Fund on this bill, which will bring the United States into the 21st century and save countless animals from unnecessary cosmetics testing.” Well said!
The United States now joins, Israel, the European Union, India, the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and China in taking steps towards ridding the world of cosmetics testing on animals.
Wondering what you can do to help? The HSUS has created a petition to sign in support of the bill. Sign it after you call and write to your legislators about this issue, as they need to hear on multiple fronts that their constituents want this!
Rock on Green Monsters and celebrate the beginning of something great!
