This poor cat named Bruno was returned to the shelter for his affectionate behavior but thankfully he was recently adopted and found his happy ending.
Bruno was returned to a New Jersey shelter just one week after he was adopted because the family thought that he was ‘too affectionate.’ They said that Bruno’s affectionate head-butting for kisses and pets, distracting bedtime cuddling, and “zoomies” made him the wrong cat for the family.
The Montville Animal Shelter wrote on Facebook that the mother and daughter were first-time cat owners which likely played a part in them returning the poor kitty.
“The family never had a cat before and said he was too affectionate, always wanted to sit on their laps, follow them around, and head-butt them for kisses and pets,” the shelter wrote on social media.
Lindsay Persico of the Montville Animal Shelter told USA Today that she noticed Bruno seemed sat and depressed once he was returned to the shelter which is why she posted his story on Facebook. The post blew up, which resulted in dozens of applications for the furry guy.
Now, Bruno has been adopted and who knows what to expect from an affectionate cat his story prompted a huge surge in cat adoptions from the shelter!
Recently, another cat, four-year-old Ellie, was surrendered by new humans because the cat ‘wanted to cuddle’. Then she went viral on Twitter.
Yall. This is the saddest thing I've ever seen. This cat was returned to the shelter because she wanted to cuddle her owners at night. 💔 pic.twitter.com/i1uzibfQC5
