Sometimes, animals end up in the most perplexing situations and the only way out is a heroic rescue. We just can’t wrap our heads around how the poor donkey in this video ended up trapped underneath a building, but thankfully a kind human placed a call to the right people, and Animal Aid Unlimited came to the rescue. It’s heartbreaking to imagine how the donkey must have felt in that dark holw, but we can see in his body language that he had all but given up hope.
Good thing this team of rescuers never gives up on an animal in need! They started off with a pickaxe to break a big enough hole in the floor to reach the donkey and when that didn’t work, they busted out a jackhammer and freed the donkey from his sewer prison.
Now living safely among other domestic critters, this sweet donkey couldn’t look happier — just look into those beautiful black eyes when he looks into the camera and you’ll see what we mean. We hope his days are filled with as many enthusiastic rolls in the dirt, a belly full of straw, and plenty of pets and cuddles from his human friends.
