Murdoch is a blind dog who was abandoned in an animal shelter. All of the smells and sounds in a crowded facility can be very overwhelming for animals, especially for a pup like Murdoch who can’t see his environment. Shelter life can be incredibly stressful and after months of living in uncertainty, the situation began to wear on Murdoch. Eventually, he was scheduled to be euthanized, due to a “poor quality of life.”
Thankfully, one of the volunteers took a particular liking to the little guy and began to network for his rescue. Animals with disabilities can be particularly hard to place, but Murdoch got lucky when one of the fosters from National Mill Dog Rescue swooped in to help!
National Mill Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to saving the lives of dogs across the U.S. Many of the dogs they care for are victims of puppy mills, while others, like Murdoch, are just victims of the shelter system.
