These Before and After Photos of a Rescued Lamb Will Give You All the Feels

Author Bio

I am a writer and illustrator living in Poland.

Six days may seem like a very short time, but it can make an unbelievable difference – especially when it is six days of proper and loving care after a time of neglect. Floppy the lamb is a perfect example of such transformation. She was rescued by the FreeHearts Animal Sanctuary, an organization based in North East Tasmania after she was found sitting by a fence, behind a tuft of grass. She was all alone and too exhausted to keep calling out for her mother. Floppy was so small and she was hidden so well that the team almost did not see her at all. But, fortunately, they did and when the rescuers approached her to pick her up, she did not even stir – she was too tired and weak.

The lamb got a name – Floppy, because of her ears which, unlike in most lambs, were flopped down. And from the moment she was found to now, she has changed so much she barely even resemble herself anymore!

This is what Floppy looked like on July 4th, just after she was found…

…And this is how she looks now, not even a full week later!

In the second picture, Floppy is soundly asleep in the arms of her friends at the Brightside Farm Sanctuary, finally finding comfort and affection that she needs. The beginning of her story was not at all ideal and the lamb had much luck to be found and rescued at all – but now, looking at Floppy, all clean, pampered, and nearly smiling in her sleep, it is hard to believe what a poor sight she was just several days ago. She will now go on to live the life she deserves and she will be sharing it with her new friend, Fairy – another orphaned lamb that was, as Floppy’s caretakers put it, “loved back to life.”
