On International Cat Day, Hollywood legend Anthony Hopkins used his Instagram following to advocate for animal adoption. At 86, Hopkins, widely recognized for his role as Hannibal Lecter, shared a heartwarming photo with a Calico kitten and highlighted the work of Help Adopt Moroccan Animals, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless pets in Marrakech.
The organization, struggling with limited resources and no state funding, cares for around 200 animals in need. By tagging the group in his post, Hopkins aimed to raise awareness and Support for their cause. This effort aligns with his personal experience, as he previously adopted a cat named Niblo from Budapest in 2009, who remained a beloved companion until his passing in 2022.
In addition to his social media efforts, Hopkins and his wife Stella Arroyave have supported Paws of War, another nonprofit assisting in reconnecting U.S. soldiers with animals they saved during service. Their contributions have enabled critical missions, including reuniting soldiers with pets and facilitating adoptions.
