As dog guardians, we would never do anything to intentionally harm our pets, however, many are inadvertently doing so by leaving their pups chained outside. Some pet parents do this believing that their dogs enjoy being outdoors while others have more malicious intentions and chain their dogs because they want them to serve as “guard dogs” or simply don’t want to take care of their animals. In either circumstance, the dog winds up on a short chain with limited mobility, vulnerable to predators, the elements, and a number of other potential threats.
Additionally, according to The Humane Society of the United States, chained dogs tend to be more aggressive as a result of anxiety and agitation. Dogs are naturally territorial and when they are confined to such a small space with little to no other socialization or stimulation, they become incredibly protective and can act out like Alex, the dog in this video.
To outsiders, Alex’s barking and snarling make it seem like he is a vicious or aggressive dog when he is really just stressed and acting on his territorial instincts. When his rescuer gets him off the tether, he turns into a completely different dog!
This is not to say that dogs who act out aggressively when tethered aren’t dangerous – they still do pose a threat to individuals who are not trained to manage them –but seeing Alex’s transformation illustrates how subjecting dogs to these conditions can be harmful to both the dog and their guardians.

This steve markwell has been charged with appropriation of public funds and starving 100 dogs in his "care" and "sanctuary".. Need to research the acts of some people. Olympic animal sanctuary

Steve markwell is not a human he is a monster! He needs to be put in a crate and starved for years…. Sounds terrible? but that is the life he gave hundreds of dogs…. Dogs were left dead in crates covered in their own feces and dirty molded hay..
While the others sat in their crates wondering when that would to become of them…. Screams and crys from these poor animals coming from this so called sanctuary as markwell sat back watching and spending the money he was supposed to be running the sanctuary with….. After years he basically kidnapped the remaining dogs and put them in a trailer …their location was unknown for days… Before he finally turned those helpless animals over…. Those animals lived in pure hell for years… Markwell deserves a horrific death… Anyone who can hurt a helpless creature human or animal doesn\’t deserve to breath! Throws stones at this scum if you see him!
hmmm so you saw this video and a story on another site, and decided to TAKE it as your own… But obviously never did any research as to this video… Nice pirating job BTW. Markwell is a scum and should not be even mentioned, he neglected dogs. Starved them and crated them for 24 hours a day in a warehouse in Forks WA. Perhaps next time you decide to PIRATE a video and use it for your own story, might want to actually find out who it is in it and what the circumstance were. Oh and BTW the site that also took it and used it for their own story, removed it after we all let them know they had a animal abuser and criminal in the video they used… NICE move…….NOT..
