We all love the beach and we all love dogs! So, if there’s one thing that can instantly bring a smile to your face, it’s the sight of a dog catching a wave with unbridled enthusiasm and joy. Dogs have an uncanny ability to embrace the thrill of the ocean and ride the surf with an infectious exuberance that leaves onlookers in awe. In 2015, Petco sponsored the “Unleashed Surfing Dog Competition” in Huntington Beach, CA. This fun-filled day has surfing dogs, lots of treats, and a ton of sun.

3. Ricochet the Surf Dog

Ricochet not only loves to surf, but she uses her training for therapy purposes and to teach others to catch waves. She also uses her amazing skills to fundraise!

4. Hang 8 Dog Surfing Competition

The Hang 8 Dog Surfing Competition is held in Florida. The creator of the competition created the event to raise money for local animal charities.

Charlie not only loves to surf, but he also has a bad habit of doing whatever it takes to get in the water! This pup is known for stealing surfboards and taking them to hit waves.

Dogs are known for a lot of amazing things: loyalty, friendship, and cuddles. But, these pups all have something extra up their sleeve as they catch waves and “hang 8”. Whether they are just surfing with their humans, jumping on the board at competitions, or helping raise money for some amazing charities, these dogs are wonders of the land and the sea!
