@drspf Okay, I don’t really “scold” my patients about these; more of a gentle lecture 😆 #skincaremistakes #dontdoit #retinol #tretinoin #drsugaiskincare #greenscreen
Tretinoin has been trending on social media lately, and for good reason! Tretinoin is a powerful, topical retinoid (a synthetic form of vitamin A) that is used to treat a variety of skin conditions. It works by increasing cell turnover, which helps to reduce the appearance of sun damage, dark spots, wrinkles and even acne.
Dr. Daniel Sugai shared some valuable tips to ensure you get the most out of your skincare routine!
He recommends starting with a small amount. Ideally, you only need to be using a pea size amount, spread evenly around the face every night to see effects, says Dr. Daniel Sugai. You’ll also want to make sure you apply the cream at night, as sunlight can deactivate its amazing effects. He also stresses to keep your skincare routine simple. All you really need is a cleaner, moisturizer and sunscreen if you’re in your mid 20’s or younger, explains Sugai.
While dermatologists often recommend tretinoin for its effectiveness in treating a variety of skin concerns, it may also cause some side effects to watch out for. This can include skin irritation, dryness, and peeling in some people, especially when first starting to use it. Be sure to visit a dermatologist to determine if Tretinoin will be beneficial for you!
